The apartment is furnished to a high standard featuring a fully equipped kitchen including stove, oven, dishwasher, big fridge and freezer, and other kitchen gadgets. The lounge area is spacious providing comfortable surrounds and a generous space to relax and entertain.  The apartment is suitable for 1-3 persons. A minimum of 1 month is required (exception on availability for 5 days min).

Short-term renting:
Rates from 1 month up to 6 months: CHF 2,380.– to CHF 2,590.–  per month (depending on 1, 2, or 3 persons)
Includes a welcome basket, fresh towels, WiFi, electricity, heating & water, taxes and VAT.
Rate for 6 months and longer will be reduced price, please ask us.
Shorter term stays, min 5 days, can be arranged upon availability for CHF 190.–/night

Plus one time charge for end cleaning: CHF 150.–.

6 months and longer:
CHF 2’180 per month, including side costs and internet. Excluding electrical bill.
Deposit of CHF 2’000 required plus liability insurance. Plus one time charge for end cleaning.

The Rhine River & Trade

Historically several courtyards and villages in around Basel date back to the Bronze Age (2000 – 800 BC). They were build close to the Rhine, reflecting its importance as a traffic axis.The Rhine river is a vital and navigable waterway, it was also an important trading route for the Romans. Due to its central location in Central Europe, Basel is a particularly important and relevant commercial geographic area from BC to today.

In 1471 Emperor Frederick III. allocated the trade fair privilege to Basel. Till today the Basel Exhibition Center carries out numerous trade fairs and congresses every year, among them “Art Basel”, the world’s largest fair for contemporary art, and “Baselworld”, the world’s largest watch and jewelery trade fair.

Basel – Deeply Rooted in the Development of Human Understanding

Around 1470 book printing was introduced in Basel. As a result, there was a cultural revival, which attracted famous thinkers, in addition to the humanist Erasmus of Rotterdam, Paracelsus, Sebastian Brant and Hans Holbein also lived in Basel.

1543 the first complete textbook about the human anatomy got published in Basel, De Humani Corporis Fabrica (The Fabric of the Human Body) by Andreas Vesalius.
